Unfortunately, Superband no longer exists, though their memory lives on, but at least there's still Cesspool, right? Well, what if I were to tell you that there are already TWO (2, zwei, dos!) Cesspool shows planned in the summer:
Friday, May 30, at My Ann Arbor house, with Melty Melty and Inspector Owl and Jared Saltiel and the Dirty Birds
and
Thursday, June 5, at The Blind Pig, with Jared Saltiel and the Dirty Birds and Note To Self

Thanks to everyone who came out to support Superband's super summer stint. We're probably going to haphazardly record our accomplishments in the next few days for your enjoyment, so look forward to that.

Cesspool died at Round 4 of Emergenza. Sad. But the good news is Superband will be playing its first show ever this Saturday, July 14th, at some house in Ann Arbor. Cesspool will also be playing as will 4 or so other bands. It is free, and there will be food and drink. So come, cuz it'll rule. I'll post the final location later on.

The band in Michigan that I'm in, Cesspool, is progressing to Round 4 of Emergenza after schooling the homies last night at the Magic Stick. Round 4 will be on June 30th at the Majestic Theater in bullshit Detroit. You should come and see. I think we're pretty cool, but I'm pretty biased.

The solo album to which I previously referred has not yet been named. Come to think of it, neither has the artist name I will be releasing it under. The only thing that has been confirmed is that it will be released under Sony BMG, and that John Petrucci will be playing drums on a few select tracks. It is sure to be a Pitchfork favorite.
I do have some information I can disclose, and that is the titles of two of the songs. The first is Party Face, and the second is Spinwhack. Excited? Me too.
Oh, yes, one more thing. My deadline for this album has been arbitrarily set to June 15th, and hopefully it'll be done before that.

Guess what kids? I'm home for the summer, and this means three things. One, I am lonely. Let me know if you are around. Two, I am starting two epic musical projects: a solo career, and a super band with some homies, which, with any luck, will be titled 'Superband'. I know, I'm excited too. Three, I will be using this blog to get everyone really pumped about music happenings, and to give you all and myself the impression that progress is being made. Get ready. This thing will be huge.
On another note, Cesspool, the band I'm in in Michigan, will be playing a show at the Magic Stick (where I just saw Hella) on May 10. Now I know yallz is really lame-bo and probably have a final in your psych class on that day, but do what you can to try to make the show. You shan't be disappointed.

So Ramey and I have been doing this thing where we each spend a predetermined amount of time writing and recording an original piece of music and send eachother the results when we're done. We call them recordoffs. They rock. I uploaded a buttload of them to the MachTy Music Section. Some suck but most of them are delightful. Some are funny. Some are excellent. MachTy Out!

Someone has peed in our tile floor hallway. I don't know why. Yes, I know it's pee; I smelled it. It's definitely pee. Almost every morning when I wake up , there's a post-it note on the top of the stairs from my mom telling me to clean the floors or something so that she doesn't have to deal with telling me in person. Anyways, this morning was special. I got up and sat my ass on the toilet with the door open cuz no one's here. Then I hear this scraping sound and my dog comes into the bathroom with a post-it note unintentionally attached to her leg. It says, "Clean the floors and mow the lawn." The ultimate insult. I have to clean the floors AND the lawn, but it's OK! cuz the messenger of bad news was a puppy.

I'm two days away from senior freedom... I guess that's pretty exciting, huh... oh yeah... come to my graduation party on Sunday, June 12, 7p-10ish. I'm getting my kickass boss's band to play, so the party will deliver. Bring friends and topless girls, that always helps.
