These drawings are ones that melissa and i have done together. the first person starts drawing, then folds the paper over except for a few lines, so the next person can get started from those lines without knowing what the first person drew. in the end you get a cool random result and get to look at how eachothers drawings connected. i got the idea to do this from when i went to the chicago institute of art and a few famous surrealist artists did this together. they called it "the exquisite corpse" but i don't really like that name. melissa made fun of me for wanting to do this at first because she said its something she did when she was little, but then realized later it was very cool. anyway, here are the drawings from the earliest to the latest.
This is the first time we tried it. It was done with the broken pen from my car on the back of a wendy's kids meal bag. Nothing incredible but funny and worth keeping. I did the two weird sides/arms and melissa did the center as me
This one was done out of absolute boredom during junior speeches. Once again i did the outer sides and melissa drew j-mac intensely listening in the middle.
This, I think, is so far our best one. It was done on the bus to toronto on senior trip. I did the first and third sections and melissa did the second and fourth
This was also done on the bus on the way up to toronto. I decided to do it in 1/8ths instead of 1/4ths this time which made it much more time-consuming. This combined with the fact that we were tired and I was heavily on the influence of a double dose of dramamine made it interesting. Melissa did the first, I did second, and so on.
more to come.
